Ebou is at Quantum Net studying Computer Maintainance and Repair

When he was small he was ill and the illness went to his foot which bent at the ankle.
At first doctors thought they could do nothing, but then after an operation Ebou wore a special shoe which started correcting his foot, but as he grew bigger, a bigger corrective shoe was not available.

Now his foot is so twisted he has to wear his flip flops with his foot the the wrong way up. This has become very painful for him when he is walking because he is pushing the foot and ankle further in the wrong direction.

But this didn't stop Ebou from being one of the brightest and most hard working pupils in his school.  Maybe it was because of his foot that he was so good academically, for being unable to run about with others Ebou discovered reading and learning as a way of coping with his situation.

We raised funds to attempt bringing him to the UK for treatment but the rules changed and the amount that has to be raised to bring him to the UK is I believe £10,000 in an account – so that is impossible.

We are now using the money raised mainly by Sylvia and Norma Fower to put Ebou through some advanced computer courses – his current course is in Computer Maintenance and Repair.

He is a lovely young man and if we could get further sponsorship for him he could take some more advanced courses and be in a position to set up a small computer repair workshop.
Please contact the GETS sponsorship secretary if you would like to help Ebou
