Isatou’s
mother Jainaba Marong, was sent to live in the village in Badibou
on the north bank when she was 4 years old so that she could help
an elderly aunt.
Binta the elder sister
stayed with her parents and was educated.
Jainaba in the village
really had no education, she speaks almost no English and cannot
read or write.

Isatou's father and had 4 children by him. At that time he worked
as a seller, but he developed a mental condition and cannot work
now. He also has a second wife and children by her too.
Since Jean has been
sponsoring her Isatou goes to the school in Bundung where her
teacher Mrs Naffie says she is quiet and well behaved.
Isatou says she likes reading best.
Jean's help means that
Isatou is now going to school and getting food everyday. |
